Regional media on the Karadžić verdict: Croats demand punishment, Serbia reports 'dryly'

The eyes of the entire world are fixed on the building of the Hague Tribunal, where at 2:00 PM the verdict will be pronounced for the first President of Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadžić, for genocide in Srebrenica and seven other municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for terrorising the citizens of Sarajevo, and for taking UN members hostage, writes the Patria news agency.

Media in the region are also closely following the events in The Hague. The majority of Serbian media are covering the preparations for the verdict rather 'dryly'. Some opposition media even demand that the official authorities clearly condemn the crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that they never happen again.

Nataša Kandić writes for Belgrade's Danas that in Serbia there is still 'no politician to tell the truth', although it would be very important for the country.

Croatian media are much harsher. They demand the maximum sentence for Karadžić. Journalist Vladimir Matijani from Slobodna Dalmacija brings a text titled 'Karadžić to life imprisonment, for healing Bosnia's wounds', reports Patria.
