MEDIA Abramovich and Ukrainian negotiators show symptoms of poisoning

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian peace negotiators suffered symptoms of poisoning after attending a meeting in Kyiv earlier this month, foreign media report.

According to the Wall Street Journal, after the meeting in the Ukrainian capital, Abramovich, who had been traveling between Moscow, Lviv, and other negotiation sites in the previous period, as well as at least two other members of the Ukrainian team, developed symptoms that included red eyes, constant and painful tearing, and peeling skin on their faces and hands, according to sources close to these individuals.

They blamed hardliners in Moscow for the suspected attack, saying they wanted to sabotage negotiations to end the war. A person close to Abramovich said it was unclear who targeted their group.

Abramovich and Ukrainian negotiators, including Crimean Tatar representative Rustem Umerov, have since recovered and their lives are not in danger, it is stated.

It is not known whether the suspected attack was caused by a biological or chemical agent or some form of electromagnetic radiation attack.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who met with Abramovich in the previous period, was reportedly not affected by the same symptoms.

Abramovich handed Zelensky's handwritten message to Putin a few days ago.

Otherwise, the 55-year-old billionaire faces collapse as new strict restrictions have been imposed on him due to the brutal invasion his country carried out in Ukraine.
