McGuffie: We welcome the adoption of EU funds in the BiH House of Peoples

Speaking about the adoption of the Draft Framework Agreement for EU funds in the BiH House of Peoples, spokesperson for the Delegation of the European Union and EUSR Andy McGuffie stated that the Delegation of the European Union and the Office of the European Union Special Representative welcome the determination of the Draft Framework Agreement in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, reports the Patria News Agency.

- It paves the way for establishing a legal basis for BiH to use at least 165 million euros of EU pre-accession funds (IPA II). We expect rapid ratification of this document by BiH, which would also enable us to mobilize a significant amount of EU funds, which have been allocated to BiH in support of further recovery from floods and for flood risk management.

This would be significant progress, especially considering that more than a year has passed since the catastrophic floods in May 2014, as well as the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina will host a conference on September 28, 2015, which represents a continuation of the activities of the donor conference held in July last year - says Andy McGuffie.
