MBS and al-Sisi: Iranian attacks on Gulf countries threaten regional stability

(Patria) - Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) met yesterday in Jeddah with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The two leaders discussed regional developments, particularly the consequences of the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East, its impact on regional and global security and stability, and the coordination of efforts in response, SPA announced, as reported by Al Arabiya.

They also emphasized that "repeated Iranian attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the targeting of their vital and civilian infrastructure represent a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region," it added.

Al-Sisi reiterated Egypt's condemnation of Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region, as well as his "support and solidarity with the Kingdom against any threat to its sovereignty and security," according to the agency.

The Egyptian president is currently on a regional tour aimed at discussing developments in the conflict and affirming Egypt's solidarity with the Gulf states.

Al-Sisi arrived in Saudi Arabia from Bahrain after a brief visit to Manama, where he met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Over the past two days, he also visited the United Arab Emirates and Qatar as part of efforts to support the Gulf Cooperation Council countries amid existing regional tensions and to affirm his rejection of attacks on other Arab states and attempts to undermine their security and resources.
