Pagera explode en masse across Lebanon, eight dead, a large number injured

(Patria) - The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that eight people were killed and 2,800 injured in a mass pager explosion across the country.

According to the official Lebanese agency NNA, many Lebanese were injured when Israel infiltrated and detonated pagers.

"An unprecedented hostile security incident occurred in the southern suburbs of Beirut and many regions of Lebanon.

Israel caused the pager systems to explode using high technology. Many were injured and transferred to hospitals," NNA announced.

Footage of the explosions was posted on social media as owners carried their pagers. The footage shows owners holding their pagers when the devices signaled, and at that moment they exploded.

"Hundreds of people were injured as a result of pager explosions in various parts of the country," Lebanese Minister of Health Firas al-Abyad told Anadolu.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health called on all healthcare professionals to report to work to assist in admitting the injured.

The Ministry of Health asked Lebanese citizens to donate blood. They asked employees and citizens not to use pagers and to discard them.

Dozens of ambulances are moving through the streets of the capital, Beirut, and Lebanese soldiers have been deployed on the streets to eliminate chaos and traffic jams in the city.
