Mašić: KCUS Management Should Be Dismissed Due to Endangering Citizens' Health

SDP BiH will propose a conclusion at today's session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, which will ask the KCUS Management Board to immediately dismiss the entire leadership, headed by director Sebija Izetbegović, whose actions have endangered the lives of many KCUS patients and denied numerous forms of medical assistance, reports Patria agency.

- We will ask the FBiH Parliament to task the FBiH Government with dismissing the KCUS Management Board if this board does not dismiss director Izetbegović. This way, it will be very clear which policies stand behind the care for citizens' health, and which stand behind the personal, insatiable ambitions of individuals who think they even have the right to directly decide on the life and death of BiH citizens – said Damir Mašić at a press conference before the session began. 

After about fifteen patients out of a hundred protested yesterday in front of the Oncology Clinic because they were denied radiation therapy due to malfunctioning equipment, it became clear that even the most seriously ill patients cannot receive services at KCUS.

- Patients were literally kicked out and told to find therapy on their own. After the media published the information, they were brought back to avoid media coverage. Due to savings, people's health has been directly jeopardized. The infamous savings began with the current management. It is known that KCUS has financial problems, but they should not come at the expense of citizens and patients – said Mašić.

He added that the golden hour has been abolished at KCUS, as well as the work of the Emergency Medical Service on Mondays and Fridays, and surgeries from pediatric neurosurgery.

- We believe it is necessary, and FBiH is one of the founders, and the Government appoints the KCUS Management Board, to adopt a conclusion that the Management Board dismisses Sebija Izetbegović and that the Government dismisses the Management Board if it does not carry out the management's dismissal – said Mašić. 

Naša stranka has also announced the initiation of the dismissal of the KCUS director through the KS Assembly, which is one of the founders, the largest financier, and the supervisory body of KCUS.
