Maruf: Palestinian people offered strong resistance to the Israeli aggressor

With the mediation of Egypt, a ceasefire was reached yesterday afternoon between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip, leading world media reported. Namely, it is a ceasefire without a time limit which includes Israel's approval to end the blockade of Gaza to allow the delivery of food and construction materials to that territory.

Since the beginning of Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip, more than 2148 Palestinians have been killed, 450 children, and more than 10,000 wounded, houses, schools, and hospitals have been destroyed, said Majed Maarouf, president of the Association "Palestinian Community in BiH".

- The ceasefire means a victory for the Palestinian people in their just demands that every nation seeks, such as freedom of movement, normal communication with the world, the right to a peaceful life and peaceful sleep. The ceasefire is a victory for the peaceful option and a defeat for Netanyahu's Israeli occupying policy - Maruf told NAP.

He emphasized that the resistance offered by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip during the Israeli aggression will change Palestine's negotiating position in the future.

- It will also force the international community and world powers, led by the American administration, to change their stance and finally hold Israel accountable for the crimes it commits, and for the international community and Americans to mediate in the negotiations and not be on the side of the Israeli aggressor - says Maruf, adding that the Palestinian people deserve to live in an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

- This is within the framework of Resolution 242, where the international community demands that the Israeli occupying forces withdraw to the borders of June 4, 1967. The solution proposed by US President Barack Obama and the international community regarding two states is realistic, but the international community must find a mechanism to force Israel to accept such a solution in practice, not just declaratively on paper. I believe there is a possibility for us to live in a free, democratic, multicultural state of Palestine with good neighborly relations with Israel, peace, security, and prosperity for both peoples - states Maruf.

On this occasion, he expressed gratitude to the brave, honorable, and just citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who raised their voices and stood with the Palestinians both in BiH and in Palestine during the past most difficult 51 days.

- Thank you to Latin America, which raised its official voice against the Israeli aggression, thank you to all the brave, free, just, and honorable people who organized protests around the world and provided support to the Palestinian people to achieve their freedom - Maruf told Patria.
