A truck with about 5,500 Eid packages that left Zenica for Opatovac after midnight last night is still at Croatian customs, unable to pass due to the chips and smokies contained in the packages, writes the Patria News Agency.
However, volunteers report that they managed to quickly distribute a smaller quantity of packages, which they transported by minibus, to children with parents in Tovarnik who were being transferred from buses into vehicles and further towards Hungary.
Otherwise, in the camps in Croatia, the Red Cross and police are currently not allowing our volunteers from Zenica any contact with refugees, and what they are offering as a solution is to unload the truck in their warehouse, and they would distribute it further.
Branko Tomic, director of the Red Cross in Vinkovci, will take over the complete delivery of over 5000 packages on Monday after the sanitary inspection procedure and will ensure that it is distributed to all reception camp locations of Opatovac, Tovarnik, and Beli Manastir during Monday.
