Macron convenes cabinet, France unaware of US attack on Iran

(Patria) - French President Emmanuel Macron will hold a meeting with members of the security cabinet to discuss the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

The Presidency announced that Macron held talks with representatives of the Arab world, such as the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Oman.

He is expected to hold talks with European and regional leaders during the day.

"France distances itself from the American attacks and calls on all parties to exercise restraint," emphasized the head of French diplomacy, Jean-Noël Barrot.

He added that they received the US attacks with concern. They said they did not participate in the attack, nor in its planning.

"A lasting solution to this issue must come through negotiations within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, to which France remains ready to contribute. France has repeatedly expressed its strong opposition to Iran acquiring nuclear weapons," he emphasized.
