Mothers of Srebrenica will look into the eyes of the criminal who ordered the murders of their sons

Mothers of Srebrenica, representatives of the Potočari Memorial Center and the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina will attend the sentencing of Radovan Karadžić tomorrow in the courtroom of the Hague Tribunal, writes the Patria news agency.

Sadik Ahmetović, President of the Board of Directors of the Potočari Memorial Center, said in a telephone conversation with Patria that the verdict against Karadžić will show whether there is international justice in the case of the committed crime of genocide.

- I expect the maximum sentence and a conviction for genocide on all counts of the indictment. What is important at this moment is whether the world will remain silent again on the verdict and whether the deed and goals of Radovan Karadžić will remain permanent. The Republika Srpska was created on the idea and deed of Radovan Karadžić and his associates. If it continues to exist in this form and with this policy, Radovan Karadžić has defeated international justice, says Ahmetović.

He arrived in The Hague today with the mothers of Srebrenica. He shared his impressions with us during conversations with them.

- They are very nervous, because tomorrow in the courtroom they will come face to face with the criminal who ordered the murders of their sons. Many of them will return after the verdict to Srebrenica, to Podrinje, to their homes where they live alone because all their family members were killed. They will return to the work of Radovan Karadžić that he created and that the world gave him, Ahmetović emphasizes.
