Mother and Father of Slain David and Dženan to Meet with Johannes Hahn

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The mother of the murdered young man David Dragičević, Suzana Radanović, and the father of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, Muriz Memić, will hold a meeting today with the European Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn in the EU Delegation building in Sarajevo. 

Radanović and Memić will inform Hahn about the obstructions in the investigations that were conducted in the wrong direction or not conducted at all. The death of David Dragičević has not been clarified a year after his body was found on March 24, 2018, at the mouth of the Crkvena river in Banja Luka. The young man's parents exhumed the remains on the eve of the anniversary and buried him in a cemetery near Vienna. 

The Memić family has been fighting a legal battle for over three years to uncover how Dženan sustained fatal injuries on the night of February 8, 2016, in Velika aleja on Ilidža. The young man died on February 15, and the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office filed charges against Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović for a traffic accident. The court proceedings opened numerous questions, and the verdict stated that there was no evidence to suggest that a traffic accident had occurred at all, and that the injuries on Dženan Memić did not correspond to those from a vehicle hitting a pedestrian. 

The Memić family organized numerous protests demanding the truth be revealed, and one of the demands was the resignation of the Chief Cantonal Prosecutor Dalida Burzić. Instead of resignation or dismissal, Burzić was appointed a judge of the Court of BiH in February. She takes office on April 1.
