Marathon runner and humanitarian Mahir Mujić has recently attracted public attention with a successful humanitarian campaign to help the sick girl from Bihać, Dalal Omerović.
After running a race from Sarajevo to Banja Luka in four days, during which he collected 11,052 KM for the girl Dalal's treatment, Mujić decided to launch a new campaign.
On August 22, he launched a campaign to raise funds for the treatment of the sick boy Afan Selimović from Visoko, and the campaign will last until September 22.
- On Sunday, September 16, I will run the Sarajevo Half Marathon, and immediately after the race, I will continue towards Visoko with the intention of hugging and kissing little Afan – Mahir Mujić told the Patria agency.

Mujić adds that he will run about 50 kilometers for the health of one child, and that everyone who wants to join the campaign can do so until September 22.
- There are 5 days left until the new endeavor. I am ready for this new challenge and I think I should finish it without problems, but fundraising has slowed down a bit. We currently have 1,983.03 KM in the account for Afan, which is not a small amount of money, but I would like to collect the amount I envisioned by the end of the campaign, which is 5,000 KM. Regardless, whatever amount is collected by the end of the campaign, which is until 22.9.2018, I will transfer it to Afan and I will be happy and proud – Mujić told Patria.
Mujić pointed out that 20 people have joined the fundraising campaign so far, and that almost 2,000 KM has been collected, and everyone who wants to help can join.
- I love children, I love to help, and all of this comes from love. My goal is not to promote myself, but my goal is to raise the awareness of citizens and for everyone to start contributing to this country through their work – says Mujić.
We remind you that Afan Selimović from Visoko is a child who suffered a brain hemorrhage during birth, followed by a stroke, and was soon diagnosed with hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, respiratory distress syndrome, and epilepsy. His mother Edina announced that she would sell her own kidney to pay for her son's treatment.

- I visited Afan and his single mother in Visoko, it is difficult for me to say anything other than to pray for his health, because that is the most sacred thing. I don't even have the strength to comprehend what Afan and Edina Zahirović are going through, who no longer has the strength to cry. That's why I measured and determined the route from Sarajevo to Visoko, and despite running a half marathon of 21 kilometers, I will run another one of 32 kilometers all the way to Visoko. That is, a total of 53 kilometers, all for Afan, whose health I will always pray for because he needs it the most – concluded Mahir Mujić.
The humanitarian campaign will last until September 22, 2018, and everyone who wants to buy meters and kilometers can make a payment to the following accounts:
