Maglaj: Kindergarten renovation still ongoing, workshop for the youngest today

In front of the Public Institution Kindergarten Maglaj at the location „Safe Place for Children of Maglaj“ today, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a creative-educational workshop organized by SOS Children's Villages Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

This kindergarten suffered extensive damage during the May floods, and numerous organizations, companies, artists, and citizens from across Bosnia and Herzegovina joined the effort to help with the complete renovation. SOS Kinderdorf set up mobile units where the "Safe Place for Children of Maglaj" program was conducted until the situation in the city stabilized, and their assistance to the kindergarten has been immeasurable. Through campaigns and efforts, they managed to collect around 100,000 KM for the renovation.

The area around the kindergarten required a complete reconstruction, and employees of the company „Park“ from Sarajevo came to help. This involves installing fences, furniture, and greening the area behind the kindergarten, as water and mud destroyed everything.

A fundraising campaign was also organized in Sarajevo from June 10 to the beginning of July. A charity exhibition was set up in the studio of prominent Bosnian painter Safet Zec, and from the sale of artworks, 4,000 KM was collected and handed over to the kindergarten director Džeraldina Delić.

Renovation work on the kindergarten is still ongoing, and the procurement of mattresses, bedding, and children's beds has begun, writes Patria.
