(Patria) - French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Tuesday that he spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and asked him to stop attacks on countries in the region and invited the country to engage in good-faith negotiations, Reuters reported.
"I again spoke about the absolute necessity of stopping these unacceptable attacks on countries in the region, preserving energy and civilian infrastructure, and restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," Macron said in a post on social network X.
"I called on Iran to engage in good-faith negotiations to pave the way for de-escalation and ensure a framework that will meet the expectations of the international community regarding Iran's nuclear and ballistic program and its regional destabilization activities," Macron added.
