Macron: Nothing will prevent the recognition of Palestine

(Patria) - French President Emmanuel Macron told Israel yesterday that no offensive or attempt to annex the Gaza Strip will prevent the recognition of a Palestinian state.

- No offensive, attempt at annexation, or displacement of the population will stop the process that we have initiated with the Crown Prince and to which numerous partners have already joined - Macron said after talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

He deemed the American decision not to grant visas to Palestinian officials for the UN General Assembly unacceptable.

- We call for this measure to be withdrawn and for Palestinian representation to be allowed in accordance with the UN headquarters agreement - Macron concluded.
