(Patria) - French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the country will provide an aid package for Lebanon worth one hundred million euros.
Macron said at an international conference in Paris that "massive aid is needed for the Lebanese population," reports AP.
Representatives of the French government and diplomats hope that the financial commitments of the conference participants will help raise 426 million dollars, which the United Nations considers necessary for Lebanon.
