The president of the association "Palestinian Community in BiH" Majed Maarouf told the BiH news agency Patria that the recognition of Palestine by the Vatican is a great hope for all Palestinians.
He added that he hopes that, after the Vatican, which has previously supported the Palestinian people, many other countries will now be encouraged and recognize Palestine, or that this will contribute to the stabilization of the situation in the Middle East.
With the agreement concluded on Wednesday, but which still needs to be signed, the Vatican recognized Palestine and established diplomatic relations with this country, reports Associated Press.
The agreement was made a few days before the arrival of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the Vatican ahead of the canonization of two new saints on Saturday, reports NAP.
