Lottery of BiH Paid 4,601,526 BAM into the Budget of the Federation of BiH in 2015

In the Federation of BiH, there are currently 13 legal entities ­ organizers of betting games, which are privately owned in terms of capital structure, and the betting activity is carried out at a total of 2,443 betting points, according to information from the Federal Ministry of Finance on the effects of the implementation of the Law on Games of Chance, in the part related to the organization and operation of betting shops, which was adopted today by the Government of FBiH. As of December 31, 2015, a total of 4,629 workers were employed in this sector. In addition to these legal entities, the Lottery of Bosnia and Herzegovina also organizes betting games on the territory of FBiH, in accordance with the Law, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Based on information provided to the Federal Ministry of Finance by the Tax Administration of FBiH, at the betting points of the organizers in 2015, based on player payments, a turnover of 597,950,036.14 BAM was achieved. Regarding public revenues collected last year, a total of 10,354,483.70 BAM was paid into the public revenue accounts of the FBiH Budget, of which 8,895,430.10 BAM, or 85.9 percent, was paid from August 1, 2015, i.e., from the beginning of the implementation of the new Law.

Furthermore, during that period, the organizers of games of chance paid a total of 19,203,229 BAM based on other mandatory public revenues prescribed by other laws and regulations: for pension and disability insurance 6,275,835.57 BAM, for health insurance 4,495,660.86 BAM, for unemployment insurance 545,749.81 BAM, income tax 5,008,635.25 BAM, utility fees 307,850.39 BAM, and profit tax 2,569,235.70 BAM.

It is important to highlight the data that, in accordance with the Decision on the distribution of funds from realized turnover, the Lottery of BiH paid a total of 4,601,526.48 BAM into the Budget of the Federation of BiH in 2015.

Regarding the implementation of the provisions of the new law concerning the operation of betting shops and the issuance of approvals for the extension of operations, the information emphasized that no betting shop currently holding an operating permit has any outstanding debts based on obligations.
