Lukač on the arrest of special forces for the robbery of 600,000 KM: This is a plus for the MUP, the case has been solved

After members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior arrested five members of the RS Special Police on suspicion of robbing an armored vehicle of Sector Security and taking 600,000 KM, a press conference was held in the building of the RS Government, where Interior Minister Dragan Lukač spoke, N1 reports, as carried by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

As he confirmed, special forces of the RS MUP participated in the robbery and theft on the Banjaluka - Gradiška highway. According to N1, the leader of the criminal group is Vladan Malić (born 1982).

- Of the seven arrested, five are from the Ministry of Interior - Lukač said.

Darko Ilić, head of the Department for Investigations and Security in the RS Special Prosecutor's Office, says this is organized crime.

- Evidence has been secured, and detention measures will be imposed against five persons, while two persons will defend themselves from freedom - Ilić said.

He added that no weapons from the RS MUP were used in the film-like robbery. Minister Dragan Lukač stated that his resignation is available, but that the perpetrator bears responsibility for the criminal act.

He confirmed that part of the money was found with several members of the RS Special Police.

- This is a plus for the Ministry of Interior of RS, not a bad image, because the case has been solved - Lukač said, adding that the MUP is determined to fight crime within its ranks.

As they stated at today's press conference, other members of the RS Special Police Unit also participated in the investigation.

The robbery occurred on September 22 last year on the Banjaluka - Gradiška highway, near Cerovljani. During the robbery, several armed and masked individuals intercepted an armored vehicle of the company "Sector Security", and pistols, automatic rifles, and a rocket launcher were used in the exchange of fire. Security guard Đurad Bajić was wounded.
