Thieves spent 45 minutes removing rims from a car, police did not respond to the scene

A car on Kunovska Street in Sarajevo's Dobrinja neighborhood was targeted by thieves around midnight on Saturday, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

One of the residents of that street noticed several people looking at parked cars and called the police, but by the time officers arrived at the scene, no one was there.

Shortly after the patrol left the scene, the thieves returned and spent the next 45 minutes removing rims. Another call was made to the police station, which is located about 250 meters from the theft site, but this time the police did not even respond to the scene.

A fellow citizen who recounted this story said he was disappointed that the police did not respond to the scene.

- I could not have known that the thieves would leave the scene and that they were just scouting the area, so the police did not catch them. But I cannot believe that they did not come later, even though I explained that a theft was in progress.

He said that there is also an increased number of cars on this street because many people have come from abroad to visit relatives and friends.

- It is sad that this will be their memory of staying in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina - says this resident of Dobrinja.
