The documentary "Death Camps" has been viewed by over ten thousand viewers in less than four months since its premiere. The film has been translated into three foreign languages and screened in many cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and Austria.
"Death Camps" is a 2014 documentary film by the Association of Camp Detainees in Bosnia and Herzegovina, directed by Avdo Huseinović. It was filmed based on true events that occurred in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995. The film covers 22 camps that existed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
67 surviving camp detainees and their family members speak about the camps and the crimes committed in them.
The documentary film "Death Camps" premiered on November 24, 2014, at the Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo and is the first documentary film about camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The film has been translated into English, German, and Turkish, and will be translated into French and Persian.
The film has been screened in over 20 cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including: Sarajevo, Tuzla, Kakanj, Bihać, Jajce, Visoko, Sanski Most, Ključ, Kozarac, Goražde, Donji Vakuf, Zavidovići, Vogošća, Ilijaš, Hadžići, Travnik, and in the coming period, screenings will continue in Bijeljina, Mostar, and other cities in BiH.
Starting March 14, 2015, the film began airing on TV stations in BiH, and in the coming period, the film will also premiere on TV stations in Turkey, English-speaking, and German-speaking countries.
In addition to "Death Camps," the Association of Camp Detainees in BiH has begun production of the documentary film "Herceg-Bosna, Crime and Punishment," which will focus on camps in Herzegovina from 1992-1995. The premiere of this documentary is planned for May 2015 in Mostar.
The Association of Camp Detainees in BiH has become the first non-governmental organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina to document the truth about crimes in camps.
