Beauties and potentials of Ilidža presented to students from Istanbul

A presentation for students from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) was held in the Municipality of Ilidža on February 28, 2017. This visit of students and professors from ITU was organized due to the interest of students and professors, who chose Ilidža as the municipality currently undergoing spatial development, for their master's thesis work, reports Patria agency.

Sarajevo and Ilidža were presented to the students through a presentation on development by Nasiha Pozder from the Faculty of Architecture, the vision of the Municipality of Ilidža and the proposal of locations for student work by Nazif Babaić from this municipality, and a spatial planning presentation related to the proposed locations by Mirza Rustempašić from the KS Development Planning Institute.

The students were welcomed by the Mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža, Prof. Dr. Senaid Memić, who emphasized that Ilidža is an open, developed, and safe community with an improved business environment and a recognizable identity.

Nazif Babaić, a representative of the Municipality of Ilidža, said in his presentation that Ilidža, by 2020, aims to accelerate economic development and improve the competitiveness of the economy, with a special emphasis on the development of tourism and the creative economy.

Developed social infrastructure, which will be evenly distributed and accessible to all residents, along with positioning the Municipality of Ilidža as a top university, health, and rehabilitation center, while preserving cultural and historical heritage and a recognizable ambiance, is a strategic goal of the local community - Babaić added.

Afterwards, the students visited Vrelo Bosne, Stojčevac, the Riverina settlement, the Sarajevo Waves building, and a visit to Igman was also organized.
