Gaza doctors say hospital evacuation impossible after Israel's order to evacuate

(Patria) - The Israeli army issued an order on Sunday to evacuate Al-Quds Hospital in the Gaza Strip, but staff said moving hundreds of patients currently being treated there would not be possible.

BBC News reported after midnight that it had received a message from an unnamed doctor at the clinic saying that "heavy bombing has now begun near Al-Quds Hospital".

"Everyone, everyone, especially the children, are terrified," he said.

"They are bombing (residential) skyscrapers behind the hospital," he added.

Also, the BBC previously received a voice message from an unnamed Gaza resident who said: "They bombed two residential skyscrapers, and now they are bombing a third one. God save us."

Footage believed to have been taken from inside the hospital, showing rooms full of dust and blown-out windows, has been published on the BBC's website.
