(Patria) - President Donald Trump's doctor addressed the public about the president's health status. He said Trump is doing very well, breathing on his own and not receiving oxygen.
Doctor Sean Conley is providing the first information about the president's health since Friday evening.
"We have monitored his cardiac function, kidney and liver function. All are normal," Conley said.
He added that the president "is not on oxygen this morning, has no difficulty breathing or walking.".
It was stated at the press conference that the decision to transport the president to the hospital was precautionary, and that they are very satisfied with the progress. Yesterday he had a slight cough and was tired, but these symptoms are now weaker.
"Trump received Remdesivir yesterday and we plan to continue with this therapy," doctors said, adding that he has not had a fever for 24 hours.
When asked by reporters when he might be discharged from the hospital, they could not give an answer.
"The most critical period is around 10 days and he is doing very well now, but we do not want to predict when he will be discharged from the hospital yet. I don't want to speculate, but for now, everything indicates that he will not need oxygen," he said.
He added that the president had a mild cough, a slight fever, and felt tired, but denied that he had breathing problems.
"He is 74 years old, he is a man and slightly overweight, he has no cholesterol, no blood pressure problems. Otherwise, he is not in a critical group," the doctor said.
