In the morning hours, during a hunt in the area of Maksov vrh, above the village of Čelebić in the municipality of Livno, an accident occurred. Hunter Mile Barbarić from the village of Kovačić near Livno entered an unmarked part of a minefield where he stepped on a PROM mine and was killed, reports the Patria news agency.
Director of FUCZ Fahrudin Solak is at the scene of the accident and confirmed to the Patria news agency that a body recovery operation is underway, involving demining teams from the Federal Administration of Civil Protection, Team "A" and Team "B" Livno.
-The deminers managed to reach the body of the unfortunate hunter, who, unfortunately, showed no signs of life.
The minefield is marked, but not in the part where the hunter entered the minefield. The accident site is a difficult and inaccessible terrain in the area of Čelebić on the border between Livno and Bosansko Grahovo, says Solak.
The hunter was killed by a PROM mine. Investigative authorities are at the scene. Next to the body, another PMA-2 mine, the so-called "pašteta", was found.
