Live artistic tour of the exhibition 'Steps in White'

(Patria) - The Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of BiH and artist Arma Tanović Branković will host a live artistic tour of the exhibition "Steps in White" today (May 14) from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The exhibition opened on March 8, before the Covid 19 pandemic, and therefore very few visitors managed to see it. Here is a message from one of the exhibition's authors, Arma Tanović Branković:

"On March 8 this year, the exhibition 'Steps in White' by Aida Pašić Hadžiselimović and Arma Tanović Branković was opened at the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts. The exhibition is dedicated to female authors, and the color white symbolically represents the invisibility of female literary authorship in BiH. It was the last exhibition opened in the MAK gallery and the exhibition that remained set up the longest, but without visitors! Only a few days after the exhibition opening, the gallery spaces were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It is as if female authorship has symbolically remained trapped within its own intimacy. White also represents a new beginning, the erasure of the existing and a new order (Kazimir Malevich's 'White Square on a White Background'). The pandemic has shaken the world and undermined the foundations of unquestionable and total power! It has made every social order vulnerable. It has taught the whole world that tomorrow always exists, even if that tomorrow is online teaching, online economy, online theatre..

Believing that the new world order began with the pandemic, that a change has occurred within each of us, we do not accept female authorship being invisible, and therefore the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts and I will host a live artistic tour of the exhibition for all those who have not seen the exhibition and wish to see it... in the hope that theaters and galleries will open their doors soon, because for many of us, galleries and theaters are the places we miss the most."
