List of the most miserable and happiest economies in the world

Financial agency Bloomberg has published a list of the ten "most miserable economies in the world" for 2016, where countries are evaluated based on the inflation index and unemployment rate, reports the news agency Patria.

Croatia is no longer on that list, having dropped from 8th to 11th place, which is nonetheless a depressing fact. The list of the worst economies includes Venezuela, Argentina, South America, Africa, Greece, Ukraine, Spain, Serbia, Turkey, Brazil, and Kazakhstan.

The biggest problem for Greece and Ukraine is unemployment, while Venezuela's poor status is largely due to low oil prices. The projected misery index for 2016 is 159.7, four times higher than that of Argentina, which follows it on the list with 39.9.

Among the happiest economies are Thailand, Singapore, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Great Britain, writes Index.
