At least 29 people were killed in an explosion at a weapons warehouse in Garabulli, 60 km east of Tripoli, and dozens were wounded, security officials and medical services said.
The explosion occurred when armed attackers stormed a warehouse belonging to a militia from Misrata, a security official said, according to AFP.
He added that it is still not clear how the explosion occurred and that there is a possibility that the militia members themselves blew up the warehouse.
He also said that the attackers targeted the warehouse after clashes with armed residents of Garabulli who accused them of stealing supplies from a local shop, AFP reports.
