Dodik's lies about Sarajevo are now being transferred to Kyiv: Only ideologues of the 'Serbian world' understand Putin

Member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik on Wednesday called Ukrainian defenders “an armed gang”, thus using rhetoric that Russian President Vladimir Putin resorts to when explaining his motives for attacking a neighboring country. He also commented on the statement by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson comparing Sarajevo and Kharkiv.

In a statement to the media in Republika Srpska, Dodik was actually angrily commenting on Johnson's statement that on Tuesday said that Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities reminded him of the shelling of Sarajevo during the city's siege from 1992 to 1995.

“It reminds me, if you remember, of the Serbian shelling of the Sarajevo market, the shelling of innocent people in Bosnia. I got the impression that it was deliberate brutality against the civilian population,” the British Prime Minister told reporters during a visit to Estonia, commenting on the Russian shelling of the center of Ukrainian Kharkiv.

If Dodik's latest 'performance' is not a clear signal to the European Union that a Ukrainian scenario is possible in BiH, then we are in serious trouble. The citizens of Sarajevo are accustomed to hearing lies about the events in Sarajevo and its siege, including monstrous claims that they killed themselves. It is only a matter of time before that story also starts from RS, that 'street gangs' are killing their own fellow citizens!

Regarding the entire situation, it should be recalled that former High Representatives Christian Schwarz-Schilling and Valentin Inzko requested that the European Commission admit BiH to the EU “quickly and unbureaucratically”.

They demand guarantees from NATO that it will protect the population of BiH. They also believe that Serbia “should be stripped of its candidate status for accession”.

So far, diplomacy and calls for dialogue, as well as US sanctions, have not been enough to stop Dodik and his Russian accomplices.

It is necessary to take a more precise stance, and ultimately to ban pro-Russian players from political activity, because, encouraged by 'calls for dialogue', they are close to starting the creation of a 'Serbian world'.

Because only such ideologies understand Russia's bestial aggression in Ukraine. Aleksandar Vučić proves this, and Dodik follows him.

This could precisely be the basis for the guarantors of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the EU and the US, to initiate mechanisms for the temporary suspension of the rights of parallel special relations between RS and Serbia, and to support the proposed measures.

And while Željko Komšić emphasizes that he 'supports sanctions against Russia', Dodik, on the other hand, shouts that 'Putin is a great statesman'.

He is dangerously entering the territory of BiH's sovereignty, and that must not go unpunished.
