Laibach held the first of two concerts in North Korea

Slovenian band Laibach held the first of two concerts in North Korea, and they also posted photos from the first concert on Facebook.

During their short tour of the country, they will also shoot a documentary film, which is scheduled to be screened next year, reports the Patria News Agency.

The tour began at the Ponghwa Theatre in Pyongyang, which seats 1,500 people. The concert was initially supposed to be held at the Kim Won Gyun Music Conservatory, but its capacity was too small for everyone who wanted to see the Slovenian band. Tomorrow's concert will remain at the conservatory for now.

The band, known for its music and interesting stage performances, is the first from the Western world to perform in a country "that is closed off and known for military marches, mass gymnastics, anthems to the 'great leader,' and decisive opposition to Western pop culture." Their performance will be part of a program marking the 70th anniversary of the country's liberation from Japanese occupation, writes Index.
