Lagumdžija: The bank made a mistake, I paid the money, not my son

Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdžija announced today that the amount of 4,396 KM to the government account for flood victims was not paid by his son Zlatko Salko, but by him personally, and it is his salary for March, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The mistake, according to Lagumdžija, was made by UniCredit bank, which addressed the payment order to his son.

- Due to a bank employee's mistake, payment order no. 229629999 with the amount of KM 4,396.67 was written as Zlatko Salko Lagumdžija as the payer/orderer, when it should have been Zlatko Lagumdžija - states a letter from UniCredit bank provided to the media by Lagumdžija's cabinet.

The statements from the donor account published by the FBiH Ministry of Finance indicated that the payment was made by Zlatko Salko Lagumdžija, as reported by the Patria agency. He, as the minister explains, paid only 100 KM, from his savings.

- Until today, I have not spoken to anyone, nor did I intend to speak about how much funds I have allocated for these purposes, but due to incorrectly conveyed and interpreted information, and in the interest of truth, I must react - stated Lagumdžija.  

He added that on May 22nd, he also paid an additional amount of 4,355.21 KM to the dedicated account of the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury, which is the amount of his salary for April 2014.

- On the same day, I paid 100 KM each to the dedicated accounts of the FBiH Government and the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury, which my sixteen-year-old son gave me. These are funds he set aside from his savings intended for his education. In the attachment, we provide you with a letter from the bank in which they apologize for the omissions made, with facsimiles of the payment slips from which it is clear who paid, when, how much, and to which giro accounts - explained Lagumdžija, reports the Patria agency.
