Kurtulmuş with members of the Joint Collegium of the BiH PA: Economic cooperation between Turkey and BiH can be better

(Patria) - The Speakers of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples, members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the BiH PA, met today with the President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, who is leading a delegation of the Turkish Parliament on a multi-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During a friendly and open discussion, it was emphasized that relations between the Republic of Turkey and BiH are extremely good and that friendly relations and numerous signed agreements and cooperation memoranda bind the two countries. It was pointed out that economic cooperation is not at a satisfactory level and that Bosnian-Herzegovinian exporters should be encouraged to enter the Turkish market in order to mitigate the existing imbalance.

President Kurtulmuş emphasized during the conversation that both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey are in a broader, politically very volatile region, and expressed hope that crises from neighboring countries and other problems will not be reflected in the territory of BiH.

He also emphasized his conviction that solutions to all political disagreements in Bosnia and Herzegovina can be found through dialogue among domestic political forces, primarily on the basis of respecting Dayton and the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Members of the leadership of the houses congratulated the high-ranking guest today on the 100th anniversary of modern Turkey and thanked him for the support he provides to the democratic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed their readiness to build even better friendly relations.
