(Patria) - Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel told NBC News that Havana has asked the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump to engage in dialogue, Reuters reported.
That dialogue would be without seeking changes to Cuba's political system or imposing other conditions, the network said on Thursday.
In an interview with Kristen Welker of NBC News, Diaz-Canel said his leadership is tied to the mandate of the Cuban people.
"The concept of resigning and withdrawing as a revolutionary is also not part of our vocabulary," he said.
