An agreement on taking over a 10 million euro loan for financing infrastructure projects in Sarajevo Canton was signed today.
The agreement was signed by the Prime Minister of KS Edin Forto and the Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Construction, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection Enver Hadžiahmetović with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
- This is a perfect concept because not only are we getting a loan on very favorable terms, we are receiving 20 percent of that amount as grant funds, meaning non-refundable funds, which practically cancels out the interest and our other obligations on this loan. We are investing these funds in the renovation and insulation of public buildings, which directly leads to energy savings while preserving the environment - said Forto.
According to the press service of the KS Government, the loan will be used to renovate 40 public buildings, including 17 primary and eight secondary schools, six kindergartens, four faculty buildings, three facilities of the JU Student Center, and two facilities of the JU Sarajevo Health Center.
