Dubai Mall Attracted 105 Million Visitors Last Year

(Patria) - Dubai Mall is the most visited place in the world last year, claim the owners of this giant shopping center in the United Arab Emirates.

The Emirati multinational real estate development company "Emaar" claims that as many as 105 million people passed through Dubai Mall in 2023.

This is an increase of 19 percent compared to 2022, when 88 million people passed through the center, reports Punkufer.

"Our mall embodies the vibrant spirit of the city and the commitment to excellence, turning the leadership's vision into reality," stated Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar during the presentation of business results.

The staggering multi-million figure is a record for Dubai's popular tourist destination, built in 2008, which spans an incredible 1,200,000 square meters – right next to the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, located in the part of the city nicknamed Downtown Dubai.

Dubai Mall encompasses about 1,200 stores of popular clothing, footwear, jewelry, watch, and electronics brands, among others, where you can shop for hours. When you need a break, you can choose from around 200 restaurants, cafes, and other relaxation spots.

One of the most intriguing restaurants on offer is certainly Rainforest Cafe, which simulates a jungle in an urban environment with light effects.

It would be a great shame to visit Dubai Mall and not see their monumental aquarium and underwater zoo.

The Dubai Aquarium is filled with 10 million liters of water and is home to 33,000 animals – including as many as 300 sharks and rays. The price of a one-day ticket for adults is approximately 50 euros.

Dubai Mall is visited by locals, as well as tourists from all over the world – especially from Europe, China, and India.

"Emaar" announced that around 20 million people have already passed through Dubai Mall in the first two months of this year, suggesting that the record attendance could continue in 2024.
