Smuggling and aggravated theft: SIPA arrests three persons, searches at multiple locations

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today deprived three persons of liberty and conducted searches at four locations in the areas of Sarajevo, East Sarajevo and Sokolac, due to reasonable suspicion that the deprived persons committed criminal acts of organized crime in connection with the criminal acts of smuggling and aggravated theft.

The aforementioned activities were carried out in cooperation with police officers of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton and by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the searches, the following items were found and temporarily seized: ten mobile phone devices with SIM cards, one automatic rifle and 29 pieces of ammunition, one pistol and seven pieces of ammunition, which will serve as evidence in further proceedings.

The deprived persons will, after criminal processing at SIPA premises, be handed over to the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
