Payment of agricultural subsidies begins, and those found with irregularities must return the money

The Government of the Federation of BiH, after discussion at the previous session, tasked the Federal Ministry of Finance at today's session in Sarajevo to pay subsidies related to primary agricultural production entered into the Single Treasury Account of the Federal Ministry. These funds will be paid immediately, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The government today tasked the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry to initiate the recovery of funds from subsidy beneficiaries for whom the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs has identified irregularities.

Otherwise, farmers from Tuzla Canton have announced protests if payments of subsidies for 2013 and 2014 do not begin. Milk producers are in the most unfavorable position, but other farmers are also facing problems, as spring sowing approaches.

This will be one of the most difficult years for farmers, as last year they faced floods and low yields.
