Royal City of Jajce this Summer a Centre of Concert and Cultural Events

(Patria) - The Royal City of Jajce will be the centre of cultural, entertainment, and sports events in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the region, this year. This was concluded after the promotion of the campaign "Experience Summer in Jajce 2022", which was held today at the Meeting Point cinema.

The promotional campaign is being realised by the Public Institution Agency for Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potentials of the City of Jajce with the support of the Municipality of Jajce, and in cooperation with the Sarajevo Film Festival, the "Rest in BiH" initiative, and the USAID Tourism project.

"We want the royal city to showcase all its historical, natural, and cultural beauties it offers, and in that way attract as many domestic and foreign tourists as possible," stated Edin Hozan, Mayor of Jajce Municipality.

"This year, there is a huge interest in the Days of the Middle Ages, which will gather numerous knightly orders from BiH and the region," emphasised Ante Brtan, Director of the Public Institution Agency for Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potentials of the City of Jajce.

The potential for development has also been recognised by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of the Federation of BiH, which supported this year's campaign. "Jajce has been ranked among the top five tourist destinations in our country, which is why we are pleased to support its tourism development. We have previously supported the renovation and protection of the waterfall, as well as the Pliva riverbed to contribute to the development of its potential," said Seđad Muhić, advisor to the Minister of Environment and Tourism of the Federation of BiH.

As part of the promotional campaign, the first edition of the MoonJune festival will also be held, gathering numerous world-renowned jazz musicians.

"I have lived in over 90 countries and finally have the opportunity to bring the world to my native Jajce. This year, musicians from the USA, Germany, Italy, and Indonesia will perform at the festival," said Leonard Pavković, initiator of the MoonJune Music Festival, who is organising the festival with his fellow citizen Borislav Kresojević.

"I have been involved in the music scene of my hometown for over 50 years, and there has never been a spectacle in this city like the MoonJune Festival will be," said Kresojević. "MoonJune is a festival of improvised music, which depends a lot on the atmosphere in which it is created. It will be truly impressive to create music in such an imposing place next to the waterfall," stated Markus Reuter, an interdisciplinary musician performing at the MoonJune festival.

In addition to numerous musical events, the potential of the royal city of Jajce has also been recognised by the Sarajevo Film Festival management.

"We are pleased that SFF will present the most relevant domestic and foreign film titles to the audience in the fantastic ambience of the fortress and the AVNOJ museum," stated Jovan Marjanović, Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival.

"Jajce has the highest concentration of natural and cultural assets in one place, 30 national monuments, the Great and Small Pliva Lakes, and the waterfall in the city centre are fantastic locations for the development of various events," emphasised Miroslav Matošević, Director of the Tourist Board of SBK/Kanton 12. Millions of people worldwide will get to know Jajce on June 30th, through the CERCLE festival that will be held below the waterfall. "CERCLE is a world leader in organising streaming events watched by millions of people worldwide. I am sure this will be the biggest global promotion of the city," explained Renad Čelik, creator of the Garden of Dreams festival. The tourism development of this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina has also been recognised by the USAID Tourism project. "This is a huge promotion for BiH and we are pleased to support the project, which we hope will serve as an example for other cities in our country to embark on a similar adventure," stated Selma Laganin, from the USAID Tourism project.

"We organised the Desant na Jajce event for the first time in 2020 during the pandemic, and we had a great response. This year, we will expand the Desant to three days, and Dubioza Kolektiv, DJ Burak Yeter, and Damir Imamović will perform," highlights Nedim Lipa, initiator of the Desant na Jajce festival.

A large number of domestic and foreign tourists are expected this year, and the organisers hope that other municipalities in BiH will follow a similar example of developing their local communities.
