During regular and extraordinary treasury audits, applying the internal control system, a shortage of 600,000 KM was determined in the treasury of the Main Unit Sarajevo of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the CB BiH, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina Kemal Kozarić informed the investigative bodies conducting the investigation about this, within which the perpetrator N.B. was identified, who confessed to the committed act and was handed over to SIPA for further proceedings. Within its jurisdiction, the governor suspended nine employees pending the investigation, and will take all necessary measures in accordance with the investigation.

The Governor emphasizes the efficiency of the bodies conducting the investigation and expects the proceedings of the investigative and judicial bodies to be concluded as soon as possible. Given that the investigation is ongoing, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently unable to provide further information.

As announced today by the State Investigation and Protection Agency, the arrested N.B. (1975) was handed over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office after criminal processing at SIPA's official premises, for further proceedings.

- The suspect was handed over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office with a report on the committed criminal offense due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense from Article 221 of the Criminal Code of BiH, "Embezzlement in office". The said person is suspected of having misappropriated several hundred thousand KM as an employee of the Central Bank of BiH. Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton conducted an on-site investigation the day before yesterday, after which they arrested the person with the initials N.B., whom SIPA police officers took over for further proceedings - it was announced from SIPA.

The State Investigation and Protection Agency expects the BiH Court to issue orders for searches at certain locations, with the aim of finding and temporarily seizing items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings. SIPA continues its activities on this case to gather evidence and shed light on the entire incident.
