Kosovo: Entry with Serbian IDs banned

Kosovo's border police received a decree at midnight, according to which entry into Kosovo is banned for all persons holding Serbian identity cards who live in Kosovo, and the Director of the Office for Kosovo of the Serbian Government Marko Đurić said that there are speculations about this, but that the situation at the crossings is being closely monitored, reports the news agency Patria.

As the Kosovo Police told Tanjug, the implementation of this decree has not yet begun at the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings in northern Kosovo.

During the day in Leposavić, due to the new situation, the mayor of Leposavić, Dragan Jablanović, and representatives of the Kosovo Police are expected to meet.

According to the disputed decree, which has not yet come into effect in northern Kosovo, the "Kosovo Law on Foreigners" should apply to persons with Serbian identity cards and residence in Kosovo.
