Košarac: Prerequisites created for export of fish from BiH to the Russian Federation

(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staša Košarac stated that prerequisites have been created for the export of fish from BiH to the Russian Federation, and that this process is expected to begin in the coming period.

"The Veterinary Office of BiH, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, has harmonized the certificate with the Russian Federation, and we expect fish exports to this significant market soon. According to current practice, the process of certifying domestic companies for export should follow, during which the arrival of competent Russian inspectors in BiH is expected," said Minister Košarac.

He added that the company 'Ribnjak Janj' d.o.o. Tropik ribarstvo from Banja Luka is currently nominated for fish export to the Russian Federation, and expressed hope that the number of BiH cooperants will increase in the coming period.

"We are fully committed to cooperating with the Russian Federation, as the market there is large and significant for improving the business of domestic companies. I am convinced that companies recognize this capacity and that their products will soon be on the Russian market," emphasized Minister Košarac.

He announced that he will discuss this process with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH in the coming period, and stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH will continue to work continuously on opening new markets for the placement of domestic products in order to protect domestic production.
