Košarac: We Submitted the Questionnaire for Meat Exports to Saudi Arabia

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staša Košarac announced that BiH has submitted answers to the Questionnaire for the export of red meat, poultry meat, and meat products to Saudi Arabia.

"The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, in cooperation with the Veterinary Office of BiH and competent entity ministries, actively worked on completing the Questionnaire and we have successfully concluded that task," said Minister Košarac.

He pointed out that in the next phase, an answer is expected from the competent authorities of Saudi Arabia, after the necessary analysis of the submitted answers from BiH has been carried out.

"The Questionnaire is important not only in terms of the possibility of exporting red meat, poultry meat, and meat products, but also because of the larger volume of foreign trade of honey to Saudi Arabia. Namely, we were previously approved for honey exports to Saudi Arabia, but completing this questionnaire was a condition for expanding the list of approved honey exporters from BiH to the Saudi market," emphasized Minister Košarac.

According to him, opening the Saudi Arabian market is a good opportunity and an additional incentive for the development of domestic agricultural capacities, which is why it is necessary to invest maximum effort in achieving this goal.

"We have submitted the Questionnaire and expect Saudi Arabia to respond positively to our request soon. Our basic policy is to continuously work on opening new markets in order to contribute to improving business and increasing the volume of foreign trade of domestic products," said Minister Košarac.

He expressed gratitude to the Veterinary Office of BiH and other competent entity bodies, which actively worked on filling out the answers to the Questionnaire for the export of red meat, poultry meat, and meat products to Saudi Arabia.

"I am convinced that our joint efforts will contribute to a positive outcome for the domestic agricultural sector," said Minister Košarac.
