Users won't notice the difference: Google changes name to Alphabet

After 16 years of operation, the second most valuable company in the world is changing its name. Google will now be called Alphabet. This news was announced by the company itself, after which the news echoed in media worldwide.

The major reorganization of the company was announced by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who also revealed that the new CEO of Google will be Sundar Pichai instead of Page.

Google started exclusively as an internet search engine, and shortly after, the company began expanding into other sectors of the internet and the economy in general. Thus, during its operation, Google developed Gmail, YouTube, and other globally popular projects.

Page and Brin say that the company's branches have now become diverse and require special types of development and supervision. Because of this, the need arose to establish a parent organization called Alphabet, while Google will now be just one part of that organization. Users of Google services such as the search engine, Gmail, or YouTube will practically not notice any difference, reports NAP.
