Corridor 5C: October 7th opening of the Vlakovo – Tarčin section

The new section of Corridor 5C, which passes through BiH, on the route between Vlakovo and Tarčin will be opened on October 7th, confirmed the state company Autoceste Federacije BiH, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The newly built section of the corridor from Vlakovo to the Herzegovina gate is about 22 km long. With this section, BiH will have 82 km of modern highway from Zenica to Tarčin, and 32 km of highway Banja Luka – Gradiška, writes NAP.

Corridor 5C between Vlakovo and Tarčin is one of the most demanding sections of this corridor in BiH. It consists of three subsections: Vlakovo Lepenica – 10.1 km, Lepenica Suhodol – 5.5 km, and Suhodol Tarčin – 4.6 km. The value of this section is 310 million euros, excluding VAT. The works were carried out by the Turkish company Cengiz, which also engaged 60 BiH companies.

In the last three years, around 5,000 Bosnian-Herzegovinian construction workers and 90 domestic companies have been building Corridor 5C. When completed, Corridor 5C passing through BiH will be 338 km long, writes NAP.
