A man suspected of attempted murder following a shooting in Copenhagen has succumbed to injuries sustained during a shootout with police, and one civilian has also died, the Danish police announced today, reports the Patria News Agency.
Danish media reported that his name is Meša Hodžić, a Danish citizen who came to the country from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the age of four.
In a statement about the 25-year-old man, the police stated that he is suspected of being connected to terrorist groups, but this information has not been confirmed, reports AFP.
The incident occurred in Christiania, a part of Copenhagen whose residents declared themselves an autonomous area in the 1970s.
