(Patria) - UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Tor Wennesland announced yesterday that there is no safe place for civilians in the Gaza Strip, calling for an end to the war.
Wennesland also stated that relentless Israeli attacks continue in Gaza and that, as he said, the nightmare for Palestinians is intensifying.
He warned of the worsening humanitarian crisis amid the conflict in northern Gaza. He also stated that dozens of people were killed the night before in Beit Lahia in Israeli airstrikes.
This was preceded by intensified military operations that resulted in dozens of civilian casualties, with an almost complete lack of humanitarian aid for the residents of the north.
Wennesland condemned the continued attacks on civilians, emphasizing that this war must end.
"Hostages held by Hamas must be released, the displacement of Palestinians must stop, and civilians must be protected wherever they are. Humanitarian aid must be delivered unimpeded," Wennesland stated.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced yesterday that 87 people were killed or went missing under the rubble, while 40 were injured after the attack on Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. The Israeli army announced that it is verifying these reports.
