Amira Medunjanin Concert on April 18 in Osijek

Bosnian artist, acclaimed sevdalinka interpreter Amira Medunjanin will hold a concert in Osijek on April 18, at the Gradski vrt hall, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Medunjanin has already performed a concert at Zagreb's Lisinski hall, and this will be the artist's second performance in Croatia as part of the "Silk & Stone" tour, and her first in Osijek.

In addition to songs from her new album, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy performances of other sevdalinka gems and traditional songs from the region, and Amira will be joined on stage by two accomplished musicians, guitarist Ante Gelo and double bassist Zvonimir Šestak.

The album "Silk & Stone" was released last year by Aquarius Records, featuring 10 songs, with top-notch interpretations of some of the most beautiful traditional songs from the region, such as "Eleno kerko", "Kradem ti se u večeri", "Ima dana".

The album was produced and arranged by the respected and award-winning jazz pianist Bojan Zulfikarpašić. The Croatian edition of the renowned magazine Rolling Stone included the album among the 10 best regional releases in 2014, and the album was also on the list of best domestic/regional releases by Slobodna Dalmacija and the portal Muzika.hr.

"Silk & Stone" is Amira's fifth album, the successor to the acclaimed album "Amulette" from 2011 (Harmonia Mundi/World Village). She released the previous two albums for Sarajevo's Gramofon: "Amira - Live" (2009), recorded at Jazz Fest Sarajevo in 2008, and "Zumra" (2009), which was declared one of the 10 World Music releases of the year by the Sunday Times. Her debut album "Rosa" dates back to 2005, and Amira's discography beginnings are linked to her guest appearance on the album "A Secret Gate" by the famous band Mostar Sevdah Reunion.
