Konaković's Exposé: Boosting the Economy, Tourism, and IT Sector

The first working session of the KS Assembly began shortly after 10 AM with the attendance of 34 deputies, while Ana Babić from SBB is justifiably absent, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

The new KS Government and Prime Minister Elmedin Konaković are expected to be confirmed at today's session.

Following deputies' initiatives, the agenda was changed, making the confirmation of the new KS Government the first item on the agenda.

Before the confirmation of the KS Government, Elmedin Konaković presented his exposé, stating that the current state of the KS cannot be called satisfactory.

- High unemployment rate, water and gas shortages, stray dogs, nepotism, corruption, lawsuits based on collective agreements, security system, lack of a clear vision for the development of the KS tourism offer, inadequate status of the veteran population, healthcare, undefined status of private healthcare institutions, expensive essential drug list, incomplete integration of UNSA - Konaković listed.

Konaković placed the greatest emphasis on three areas: healthcare, security, and education.

- The task of this KS Government is to boost the economy, tourism, and the IT sector with all available means. Protection of domestic companies, products, and their placement - Konaković stated.

He said that he largely prepared the exposé himself, but with certain remarks from colleagues, he used data from the KS Chamber of Commerce.

- A positive story must begin from the KS Government. Justice, uncompromising fight against corruption, public interest, citizens' interest. It is necessary to reform the use of budget funds. Analysis of spending, reduction of employees, savings on all items - it is stated among other things.

Sarajevogas utility company and debts to BH Gas will be specifically addressed, as well as capital projects for the construction and reconstruction of the water supply network aimed at reducing water loss.

- It is imperative for the capital city to be clean and tidy, further modernization of the city landfill, recycling. Humane resolution of the stray dog problem - Konaković said.

He also spoke about financial audits in all companies, about conducting an analysis and reporting it to the KS Government.
