
(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković met today, March 27, 2024, with the Special Envoy of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin.
Minister Konaković thanked the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for its strong support in the European Council in making the Decision to open negotiations for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of accession to the European Union, and stated that exceptional efforts have been made in BiH in communication, negotiation, and striving to move forward on the path towards the EU, but that the result is visible, and that the path now ahead of politicians and Bosnia and Herzegovina is challenging but without alternative.
The interlocutors discussed the importance of the Berlin Process, which records a positive impact in the region, leading to stronger social, economic, and political ties. They emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and maintaining good neighborly relations as a tool necessary for the development of the Western Balkans, which leads to EU accession.
The interlocutors concluded that the speed of reforms and their implementation determine the speed of BiH's accession process to the EU family.
