
(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković met with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to BiH Rezeq Namoor.
The interlocutors assessed the bilateral relations between BiH and the State of Palestine as good and friendly and emphasized the commitment to further improve cooperation. They also exchanged views on the current situation in our country and Palestine.
Minister Konaković informed the Palestinian ambassador about our country's European path and the commitment of coalition partners at the state level to fulfill the priorities from the European Commission's (EC) Opinion. He expressed hope that BiH, after adopting a series of laws during this month, will manage to accelerate momentum on the path to the EU, in order to fulfill remaining obligations and open the negotiation process for EU membership. Regarding the situation in Palestine, the minister emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina supports all constructive efforts being made towards a peaceful end to the Arab-Israeli conflict and the establishment of lasting peace.
He stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready, within its capabilities, to contribute to the peace process. Ambassador Namoora thanked for the support that Bosnia and Herzegovina provides to the Palestinian people.
He emphasized that the State of Palestine and its leadership support the European path of friendly BiH and its reform processes.
During the meeting, information was also exchanged on the finalization of the process of concluding the Agreement on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports and the continuation of bilateral consultations between BiH and the State of Palestine.
Minister Konaković informed Ambassador Namoor that he intends to visit Palestine soon after receiving an official invitation from the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riad Malki.
